HYDERABAD: Burglars broke open the doors of a jewellery store, make a hole in the strong room and escaped with Rs 15 lakh property at Rajendranagar late on Saturday night. The burglary took place in Govind Jewellery shop located at a shopping complex on the main road at Hyderguda in Rajendranagar. According to police, the miscreants broke the rear entrance lock and made their way into the shop.  The burglary came to light on Sunday morning when the shop was opened.“There are a couple of rooms in the shop and valuables were stored in one of the rooms,’’ police said. To gain entry into the strong room, the miscreants made a 15 by 12 hole in the wall through which a lean man can sneak in. They stole 24 kg silver articles, 12 tola gold and some cash from showcases in the strong room, police said.Though a CCTV was installed inside the store, the shop owners turned off lights while closing the shop which made the images useless for investigation. The miscreants used torch lights but it did not help much for surveillance cameras to record movements of the miscreants. There was no security guard at the shop. Rajendranagar police registered a case of burglary on complaint by the store owner K Govind and investigation is on.
