Mumbai: Key witness in the Salman hit-and-run case, Ravindra Patil, has been remanded to judicial custody till March 16. He was produced in court on Monday.
The Mumbai crime branch team arrested Salman's bodyguard, Patil, from a hotel in Mahabaleshwar on Saturday evening.
Patil, who was a police constable and Salman's bodyguard at the time of the accident, was the sole witness in hit-and-run case.
On September 28, 2002, Salman Khan's Land Cruiser had allegedly rammed into a bakery at Bandra, killing one person and injuring four others.
Patil had appeared as a witness twice, but then failed to appear on five consecutive occasions. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him last month.
His brother had registered a 'missing' complaint with the police last week.
