To mark the 144th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Chairman, National Innovation Council, has organised a Twitter conference to discuss the life and message of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Gandhi Heritage Portal was also launched by the Prime Minister recently. The Portal, now available at www.gandhiheritageportal.org, was developed by the Sabarmati Ashram under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture.
The Gandhi Heritage Portal is conceptualised around The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi. It has placed the collected works in three languages: English 100 volumes, Hindi 97 volumes and Gujarati 82 volumes. The Portal also hosts Mahatma Gandhi's Autobiography in 22 languages. In all, the Portal presents more than 5 lakh pages, 21 films, 72 audio speeches of Gandhiji and over a 1000 photographs.
The Twitter conference will start with introductory remarks by Pitroda, followed by an interactive session. The conference, scheduled to be organised on October 2, 2013 from 7 PM to 8 PM will be led by Sam Pitroda from his Twitter handle @pitrodasam and would be open to everyone. The hash tag for the conference is #Gandhi. The Twitter Conference will also be joined by Kartikeya Sarabhai, Trustee, Sabarmati Ashram. The conference has already generated a lot of interest globally.
Sam Pitroda was the brain behind Rajeev Gandhi's Information Technology and Telecom revolution in the late 1980s.
