NEW DELHI/BANGALORE: The Supreme Court on Tuesday turned down the plea of K T Plantations, which had challenged the acquisition of Tataguni Estate owned by yesteryear’s actress Devika Rani and her husband and well-known artist Svetoslav Roerich near Banneraghatta, Bangalore, by the state government.The SC Bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia upheld the Roerich and Devika Rani Roerich Estate Acquisition Act, 1996, enacted by the Karnataka legislature to protect 465-acre estate of Russian painter Svetoslav and his wife.
