THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Horticulture Mission officials have said that seedlings were ready for distribution for free to farmers under the Vegetable Initiative for Peri-Urban Clusters funded by the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. The Central Government has approved this ` 12-crore project which is meant to enhance production of safe-to-eat vegetables through organic farming. In Thiruvananthapuram district, the horticulture mission is implementing the scheme, Mission director Dr K Prathapan said in a statement. Seedlings will be distributed from the following centres: Sales counter of Agriculture Department near Government Ayurveda College (November 11, 15, 18 and 22), Krishi Bhavan, Ulloor (November 15, 18); Krishi Bhavan, Vattiyoorkavu (November 3, 15 and 22); Krishi Bhavan Kudappanakkunnu (November 8 and 18); Corporation Krishi Bhavan at Saphalyam Complex (November 8, 15 and 18); Krishi Bhavans at Kadakampally, Kazhakkoottam and Attipra (November 8); Krishi Bhavan at Thiruvallom and Nemom (November 11) and Krishi Bhavan, Sreekaryam (November 18).
