New Delhi: If actress Shilpa Shetty and her arch rival on the Big Brother show Jade Goody thought it was the last they had seen of each other, they were wrong.
We do wonder how they would feel about a confrontation on the sets. No, not on the sets of another reality show, for a film instead.
And Bollywood filmmaker Shashilal K Nair plans to produce a film with the Big Brother opponents in the lead.
Nair, with more than ten films to his credit, including the controversial Ek Chhoti si Love Story thinks the pair have exactly what it takes for a blockbuster.
The filmmaker already has a script and he says the plot is “quite funny”. “I am meeting Shilpa's mother on Friday and I will speak with Jade's agent in a couple of days. Shilpa and I have been friends for a long time,” PTI quoted him as saying.
According to the plot, Shilpa and Jade will not be ‘fighting’ in the movie all the time. They will have flashes of being friends as well.
After scrutinizing Jade on-screen in Big Brother, Nair found Jade to be a brilliant actor. And from her interviews, he gathered that there were two sides to her. “The side that was crying and the side that made someone cry. I think she has potential,” PTI quoted him as saying.
After the Big Brother controversy, not only has Shilpa become one of the most discussed persons in the UK media and occupies a considerable mindspace among the British audience, there’s a strong buzz that she may soon co-host the UK version of a reality cricket show based on the Indian Idol.
And what’s Shilpa’s gain is certainly her Goody’s loss. After being accused of making racist barbs against Shilpa on the show, she was promptly voted out of the Big Brother house, and soon found her career in shambles.
Facing criticism from all sides, Nair’s film offer could probably bring exactly the kind of relief Goody needs right now.
