Sivakasi: Two dead, five injured in cracker factory fire

Sivakasi: Two people died and five others suffered injuries when a fire broke out at a cracker factory in Tamil Nadu's Sivakasi on Wednesday.

Fire tenders were pressed into service and have successfully doused off the flames.

Sivakasi, known for its cracker and match sticks factories has witnessed several such fatal incidents in the past too. It is the national hub of fireworks

manufacturing industry and mishaps, mostly in small scale units, recur despite government initiatives to enforce safety norms.
