A strong earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale in Afghanistan rocked many parts of north India including Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, NCR and other adjoining areas. The quake was 196 km (120 miles) deep and centred 82 km southeast of Feyzabad in a remote area of Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
