KASARGOD: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Friday that the state has no secret agenda on the Mullaperiyar issue and that it was not for confrontation with the Tamil Nadu Government.Inaugurating the mass contact programme on the collectorate premises, he said the state was ready to supply the same quantity of water to Tamil Nadu that they are getting now. “The state government is ready for any kind of talks with Tamil Nadu. The state has nothing to hide and everyone should take an approach of wisdom instead of sentiments.”Chandy said that the recurring tremors in Idukki district were a cause for concern for the government and the people.“The safety and security of the people are the main concern.” The Chief Minister said that action would be taken on all the complaints received at the mass contact programme. There would be follow-up actions if all the petitions could not be disposed on Friday.He added that the officials alone could not be blamed for the delay in rendering justice to the people. “The representatives of the people should be vigilant to solve the problems of the people. If rules stood in the way of giving help to the people, they should be changed.”
