CHENNAI: The Madras High Cout has modified its earlier order dated June 29 this year, which restrained the government from publishing the result of the examinations conducted for filling up 1,077 posts of VAOs, and directed it to publish the results and to proceed with filling up the same for SC/ST, notified as shortfall vacancies.
Justice KN Basha, who gave the direction on Monday, said the appointments would be subject to the final outcome of the writ petition. He was entertaining two petitions from A Arul of Pappireddypatty and M Selvakannan of Keelasambakulam seeking to implead them as parties in the writ petition from R Santhosh Kumar of Madipakkam, based on which the HC had granted interim stay on June 29. Both contended that Santhosh's petition was not a public interest writ petition and it was not known whether he belonged to SC/ST and the stay jeopardised their right.
