New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Monday named the two women who had been allegedly raped by police during last week's raid in Nandigram reportedly to corner the ruling CPI (M) in West Bengal.

When asked how could she identify the rape victims, "Their names have already appeared in an English daily," she was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.

Sushma said she had met the alleged rape victims and narrated their story of chase and assaulted by the policemen.

Swaraj, who visited Nandigram as part of an NDA delegation on Saturday, referred to allegations that police raiding the village killed schoolchildren brutally and threw their bodies into a river.

She also lashed out at both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for their "silence" over Nandigram.
