A 35-year-old school teacher was stabbed in a broad daylight at Jubilee Bus Stand on Thursday. He suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.
According to police, the victim, T Venkat Reddy, a native of karimnagar district, had lent Rs 7 lakh to his friend who ran a finance firm in the city. His friend, Surendra Rao, also a native of Karimnagar district, asked the victim to come to the city and collect his money.
At around 11.30 am on Thursday, Venkat Reddy met Rao at the bus stand. Following an argument, Rao stabbed Venkat Reddy with a knife and fled away. Reddy collapsed on the ground suffering serious injuries. He was shifted to a nearby hospital by locals. Police registered a case against Surender Rao under the section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC.
