Combining various streams to give the best possible care for patients was the topic of discussion at Bioyantra, a pan-India technical event organised by the Department of Bio Medical Engineering, SRM University, Kattankulathur.
In order to deliver better health care delivery to all, medical professionals require newer sophisticated medical devices and equipments in almost all the specializations of medicine, surgery, and therapy. Keeping in mind this need, “Improved Patient Health Care Delivery by Connecting Biomedical Industry, Academia and Hospital” was the theme of the event, and participants will delve into health related problems that are increasing every year.
The requirement of the healthcare industry may be fulfilled with the help of biomedical engineers who can design and fabricate prototypes. This is usually supported by an industry. In order to meet the requirements of both hospital and biomedical industry a biomedical engineer ensures quality control of all diagnostic as well as therapeutic equipments.
However, this progress is impeded as there is a knowledge gap between these three groups. Organised in association with Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam and Consortium of Biomedical Engineers - SRM University, the fest will be on till September 8.
