Telangana declares bandh to protest amendment of AP reorganisation bill

Hyderabad: A state wide bandh was called by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and Left parties to protest the amendment of the AP re-organisation bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The Lok Sabha passed the bill which deals with the controversial Polavaram project and paves the way for transferring 7 mandals from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh for this project.

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the Congress supported the bandh.
