THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A family residing at Kattukurackal near Chirayinkeezhu allegedly suffered huge loss after a thief broke into their house and took away gold ornaments worth 15 sovereigns.The police said that Narendran worked abroad and his wife Beena stayed in the house with their two kids and Narendran’s sister. The theft was suspected to have occurred in the wee hours on Friday.Attingal DySP K E Baiju and Circle Inspector Anil Kumar visited the house and collected evidence.In a separate incident, a 19 year old Tamil youth was alleged to have escaped with gold ornaments worth two sovereigns and a sum of Rs 4,700 from a house at Kottappuram near Vizhinjam. The police identified the suspect as Manikantan of Thenkasi in Tamil Nadu.According to the police, Manikantan has been a dependent of the complainant, Jimmy and was living with the latter’s family for quite sometime.
