BANGALORE: Not everyday is a Sunday, and for this thieves duo, they would hope everyday is not this Sunday. On Sunday afternoon, two thieves who had entered a house to commit theft were caught red-handed by the neighbours and one of them, was thrashed and handed over to the police.The incident occurred at Aiyyappanagar in KR Puram police station limits.The accused and arrested Javed (35), and his associate entered the house of one Kaverappa, while the owner and family members were out to attend a wedding.The miscreants gained entry into the house by breaking open the backdoor. However, the duo oblivious to the watchers around, fell prey into the eyes of a boy residing in the neighbouring house. The boy soon informed his father, who alerted other neighbours.By the time the duo were out, a few neighbours had gathered and tried to catch them. Though they succeeded in nabbing Javed, the other thief managed to escape with 20 grams of gold jewels. Later, Javed, who was caught was beaten black and blue before he was handed over to the police.“Upon interrogating him, he confessed of committing house breaking thefts at D J Halli, Pulikeshinagar, HAL, Upparpet and other police station limits,” the police added. K R Puram police have registered a case and are investigating the case.
