Mumbai: 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks convict Ajmal Kasab was on Wednesday morning hanged at Pune's Yerwada jail. The information was confirmed by the Maharashtra Home Ministry, which said President Pranab Mukherjee had rejected the mercy plea of the LeT terrorist on November 8. The Maharashtra government said the execution of Kasab was kept a secret.

November 7: File shown to Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde upon his return from Interpol Conference in Rome. The Home Ministry decides to hang Kasab on November 21 at 7.30 am.
November 8: The decision is communicated to the Maharashtra government.
November 19: Kasab moved from Mumbai's Arthur Jail to Pune's Yerwarda Jail.
November 21: Kasab hanged at Yerwarda Jail at 7.30 am.
