Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa on Friday appealed to Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to withdraw the letter he had written to the state government, seeking to re-convene the monsoon session of the Assembly.
In a letter to the Governor, he said it was the prerogative of either the state government or the Speaker to convene an Assembly session.
The former Chief Minister said that Yadav recently went to New Delhi where he met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and by doing so, he put a question mark on the sanctity of his office.
"I do not think any Governor of Madhya Pradesh has ever knocked at the doors of the president of a political party to seek advice," Patwa said in the letter.
Monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned sine die earlier this month following chaotic scenes over no-confidence motion moved by the Congress, which remained to be debated.
