SANGAREDDY: Tremors were felt at Mungi, a tribal hamlet in Nyalkal mandal in Medak district, on Wednesday. Four houses collapsed and two others were damaged due to the earthquake of 3.8 magnitude. However, no person was injured in the incident.
According to officials, about 40 tribal families are residing at Mungi on the border with Karnataka. At around 4 am, the tribals heard the cries of cattle and trees falling with a thud. Panicked, they ran out of their huts. Within 10 minutes, more tremors occurred uprooting the houses of Prem Singh, Vittal Singh, Jai Singh and Suresh Naik. Cracks appeared on the walls of two other houses. District collector S Suresh Kumar said the tremors were of 3.8 magnitude and no one was injured.
