There was no breach of border fencing by militants involved in twin terror strikes in Jammu region recently in which 10 people, four of them armymen, were killed, a top BSF officer said on Sunday.

A probe was on into the matter and its outcome would be known in two-three days, BSF Additional Director General R D Singh told reporters.

"The fence has not been cut anywhere. I have seen the terrain. There are so many nullahs along the International Border. At the initial stage I can t say anything as a probe is on," he said.

The BSF ADG was replying to questions by media persons on whether the militants, involved in twin suicide attacks in Kathua and Samba, had breached border fencing.

"The BSF has ordered an inquiry into the infiltration of the suicide squad from across the border. The result will emerge in two-three days," he said.

However, the damaged portion of the fencing due to recent rains and flashfloods would be repaired soon, the BSF officer said.

On September 26, three terrorists had stormed a police station in Kathua and then an army camp in Samba, killing 10, including four armymen, in twin strikes after they sneaked in from across the border.

Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, the second-in-command of the unit stationed at the camp, was among the four Army personnel dead.

Six persons, including four policemen, were killed in the attack on a police station at Hiranagar in Kathua.

The BSF ADG along with senior officials reviewed the security situation in riverine areas in Hiranagar sector in

Kathua district.

He also visited various Border Out Posts in Paharapur-Bobiya forward area in Hiranagar.
