Two injured as tree falls on car

ALAPPUZHA: A US national among two injured when a tree fell on a moving car on the national highway at Valanhavazhy, Ambalappuzha, near here, on Sunday. Aenone Mary Rosario, 52, of the US, and car driver Biju Joseph, 29, of Changanassery, were injured in the accident. They were administered first aid at the Medical College Hospital here and were later shifted to the Amrita Hospital, Kochi. Ambalappuzha police said that Aenone suffered serious injuries to her head.SI S Dwejesh said that a big tree fell on their vehicle while the car was proceeding to Kumarakom from Kollam. The police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Ambalappuzha removed the tree and saved the passengers inside the car. The car was fully damaged, the SI said.
