HYDERABAD: An engineering graduate hanged himself to death in the city as he was reportedly depressed over being jobless even after completing his engineering.Though the youngster was unemployed, he allegedly lied to his mother that he had secured a job and that he was staying with his friends.Jayaram (24), completed his B tech from Aurora college in the city last year.He was a native of Nandyal in Kurnool district.Jayaram was living with eight other friends in SBI colony at Moosarambagh under Malakpet police limits."Almost all his friends left to their native places on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi while Jayaram stayed back," Malakpet assistant SI Yadagiri said.On Thursday evening, one of his friends came back to the house and knocked the door but there was no response from Jayaram.As the room was locked from inside, he sensed something wrong and alerted the neighbours. One of the neighbour peeped through an open window and found Jayaram hanging from the ceiling fan with a cable wire."Jayaram told his mother that he had got a job and was staying in the city since the past six months without a job.He might have been depressed over not being able to fetch a job and hence, decided to end his life," police said.Jayaram hails from a middle-class family.His father expired some years ago while his mother does a small-time job for livelihood, police said.Jayaram's mother is yet to come to the city.Jayaram's friends told police that the deceased was interested in singing and was trying for a chance to sing in movies.
