UP trickster held from city

BHUBANESWAR: A Crime Branch team of Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh who was on the run for the last five years. Abinash Prasad Singh, the accused, was produced before a local court where the Delhi Police sought his transit remand. Police sources said Singh was working with an IT firm in Delhi. He is reportedly wanted in a Rs 15-crore financial scam in the firm for which he was working. He had settled in Bhubaneswar.GIRL RESCUED: A 21-year-old girl was rescued by cops from near a slum under Nayapalli Police limits. The girl said she had been assured of a job by one Dilip Das who took her to the slum near Loyola School. On Saturday, she was given something to drink after which the girl lost her consciousness, police said. They are investigating if she was assaulted.
