VACB officials raid Alappuzha DTPC Office

ALAPPUZHA: The Vigilance and AntiCorruption Bureau (VACB) on Tuesday raided the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) office here and found huge discrepancies in the operation of its vehicles and boats.
The VACB conducted the raid based on a complaint alleging that the DTPC officials had misused funds amounting to lakhs of rupees in the name of vehicle operation. The DTPC owns four boats a speed boat, a houseboat and two motor boats one tempo traveller and a car. The DTPC officials misused the funds in the name of the operation of these vehicles and boats. Though the houseboat of the DTPC has not been operating for years, the DTPC officials misused the funds in the name of its operation."We have seized the files and other evidence and found huge discrepancies amounting to lakhs of rupees," the VACB team told Express during the raid.
