New Delhi: The Justice Pathak Committee, inquiring into the Iraq oil-for-food scam, has served notices on former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh and 17 others.
According to sources, Singh has been asked to file an affidavit within 10 days.
Andleeb Sehgal, a friend of Singh's son Jagat, and former ambassador to Croatia, Aniel Matharani are among those who have been issued notices, the officials said.
Singh, whose name appears on the Volcker report on the United Nations oil-for-food scam, had denied involvement.
The Enforcement Directorate had questioned Singh, Jagat and Sehgal on the issue.
The Enforcement Directorate is reportedly in possession of documents from Jordan and Iraq in connection with the suspected involvement of Indians in the scam.
Sehgal, director, Hamdan Exports, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate earlier. Matharani had also been questioned by the directorate.
Singh had to quit the Union Cabinet in the aftermath of the scam.
