Wine Shops Shut, Bars and Restaurants Won’t Serve Alcohol in Mumbai From This Saturday To Monday
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Dry days in Mumbai as the city goes to polls on Monday; same rules will apply for counting day on June 4

Mumbai will observe dry days between May 18-20 because of the ensuing fifth phase of Lok Sabha election 2024 scheduled for May 20. Bars and wine shops in Mumbai will be closed from 5:00 pm on May 18 till 5:00 pm on May 20. Mumbai, Palghar, Kalyan, and Thane are among the key constituencies in Maharashtra that are going to polls in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha election.

According to a directive from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the constituency where the voting will take place and the adjacent constituencies must follow these dry days. All wine shops and bars will be closed on polling day to maintain public order.

Mumbai will observe another dry day on June 4 when the counting of votes will take place until the result is announced.

Cities/Districts To Observe Dry Days In May Due To Election

  • Dry days will be observed in Haryana’s Gurugram and Delhi NCR region from 6:00 pm on May 23 to 6:00 pm on May 25.
  • In Kolkata, dry days will observed from 6:00 pm on May 18 to May 20 until the polling concludes.
  • Earlier, Pune, Shirur and Maval Parliamentary constituencies of Maharashtra had declared dry days in polling areas on May 13.
