TIRUPATI: Three unidentified persons attacked the station chief of Venkata Perumal Rajapuram railway station Usha Rani and watchman Senthil on Friday. They took away gold ornaments that Usha Rani was wearing.Sources informed that it was a gang of three aged between 25 and 35 years, covering their faces with handkerchief, entered the station and assaulted the watchman Senthil who fell unconscious.Later, they made their way towards station master’s room where they found Usha Rani alone. They threatened her with a knife and asked her to give away her gold chain and rings. Even after taking away the ornaments they punched her on the nose and all over her body leading to severe injuries.After gaining consciouness Senthil called the police. They rushed to the spot and shifted Usha Rani to a Puttur hospital and later on to SVR Ruia government hospital. Her condition is said to be stable.
