Won't blame Army or officer for 'bugging': Gen VK Singh
On Jan 5, Gen Singh's residence in Delhi witnessed high drama when an Army officer landed there apparently to remove a telephone exchange.

Mumbai: Former Army chief General VK Singh on Tuesday said that he would not blame the officer involved in the alleged phone bugging attempt at his residence last week, but those who ordered for it. "I will not blame the officer or the organisation for which I worked for 42 years. I blame those who directed them to do that," Singh told reporters after paying tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi memorabilia purchased by an Indian businessman, at the International Airport in Mumbai.

"The whole incident (which his family thought was an attempt to install snooping device) is an attack on the institution. The media should find out who is downgrading this institution," he said.
