Yami Gautam, who debuts in Bollywood with 'Vicky Donor' says, her focus is now on doing more Hindi films.

Mumbai: Actress Yami Gautam, who makes her Bollywood debut with John Abraham's maiden home production, 'Vicky Donor' says, her focus is now on doing more Hindi films than regional ones. In 2009, Yami made her debut in filmdom with Kannada movie, 'Ullasa Utsaha'. Last year, she ventured into Telugu cinema with 'Nuvvila', following which she acted in a Punjabi film 'Ek Noor'. Now she is all set for her Bollywood stint.

"If something really exceptional comes by, then only I will do regional films. The focus will be more on Hindi films the priority will be Hindi films. Sometimes you crunch so much one time that it is difficult to accommodate things, if good work and exceptional things are there in regional films then why not," Yami told PTI in an interview.

In the past we have seen actresses from down south like Asin, Genelia D'Souza, Kajal Agarwal ('Singham'), Lleana D'Cruz ('Barfee') and others entering Hindi film industry.

"I have prioritised content over medium. I did not want to do Hindi films just for the heck of it or else I would have done it long back. I had the opportunity but it is about right role, script and director, and 'Vicky Donor' provided me right platform. The reason for doing regional films was not like let's just do a film or for added remuneration but there were some really different roles. As far as Hindi films are concerned, it is important to make right choices and I think I have done that," the 25-year-old said.
