KOCHI: The Kerala High court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking Vigilanceinquiry into the misappropriation of funds allotted for the ‘Mythri Housing Project’ for constructing house for economically weaker sections of the State.The petitioner Youth Congress leader and former Palakkad municipal councillor P V Rajesh filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in  2006 seeking an inquiry against the then Minister for Public Works P J Joseph. The petitioner however on Friday submitted that he did not want to proceed with the case. A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice P R Ramachandra Menon recorded this and dismissed the petition as the matter was not pressed.The petitioner had alleged that there was large scale diversion of funds. The Audit Department had pointed out misappropriation of funds relating to the project.
