New Delhi: BJP MP Yogi Adityanath broke down in Parliament on Monday while talking about his arrest in Gorakhpur.
Yogi Adityanath, a three time MP from Gorakhpur was arrested in January on charges of fanning communal tension and was released a week later. He said he was being targeted by UP chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and added that “several false cases” have been slapped against him.
"I raised issues of corruption, that’s why I’m being targeted. Will we get protection or our condition will be the same as that of Sunil Mahato?" said Yogi Adityanath in Parliament.
And he is not the only one who is now worried. A week after JMM MP Sunil Mahto was shot dead there are many MPs who fear a similar fate. CNN IBN has learnt that as many as 9 MPs have written to the Home Ministry asking for protection.
"If any MP has these fears, he should inform us. We will take appropriate action." Sriprakash Jaiswal Minister of State, Home said on Monday.
