Pune: A youth has been booked for allegedly creating a defamatory post of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Facebook, a social networking site, police said.
Police have registered an offence against one Amit Jadhav, as he allegedly posted a doctored image of Ajit Pawar on the Facebook.
NCP youth wing office bearer Ajinkya Palkar noticed this defamatory post on Pawar, while its city president Arvind Gore lodged a complaint with the police.
Police Inspector of Cyber Crime Cell, Sangita Alphonso-Shinde said, "We have registered a case against Amit Jadhav under section 66 (a) of the Information Technology Act."
"We have sought details like the computer IP address from the Facebook authorities. We will receive details from them over the next 3-4 days, Shinde added. Further investigations are on.
