“I am deeply sorry and heavy-hearted to come to you with such disappointing news. Last night, after having drinks at a dinner, I rode an electric scooter to go home. With the complacent thought that it was a short distance and without realizing that using an electric scooter while intoxicated is prohibited, I violated traffic laws,” Suga said.
“While parking the scooter in front of my house, I fell off on my own. A nearby police officer noticed and conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in my license being revoked and receiving a fine. Although no one was harmed and no property was damaged, this is entirely my responsibility with no excuses. I sincerely apologize to everyone for my actions. I apologize to those who have been hurt by my careless and wrongful behavior, and I will ensure that this does not happen again in the future,” Min Yoongi added.
BigHit Music also issued a statement, apologising on his behalf. The agency revealed Suga’s license has been revoked and he was fined as well. The rapper was escorted back home after the incident. In a statement issued on Weverse, the agency also apologised on behalf of Min Yoongi. For the unversed, South Korean media outlets reported that the rapper has violated the traffic laws of drunk driving with his electric scooter. The rules for electric scooters in South Korea is reportedly similary to that of driving a car.
