Park Bo-gum and Bae Suzy have been roped in for a new sci-fi fantasy film Wonderland. This is the first time the two South Korean stars have been cast opposite together. Directed by Kim Tae-yong, Wonderland revolves around an Artificial Intelligence service of the same name that allows users to “reconstruct" their deceased loved ones. Scheduled to release on June 5, the teaser has grabbed eyeballs, especially because of Park Bo-gum and Bae Suzy’s sweet chemistry. Now, the first stills from the upcoming movie have been unveiled by the makers, piquing the interest of K-drama lovers further.
The production firm Ace Maker Movie Works shared the photographs on Instagram on April 30. The first slide captured Bae Suzy at a dinner table watching Park Bo-gum affectionately, flashing a joyous smile. In the following one, Suzy wrapped her arms around Bo-gum in a tight embrace at a hospital premises. The concerned expression on her face was unmissable. Bo-gum made a solo appearance in the next slide, waving and smiling at the camera. Some medical equipment could be spotted behind him. The last snap featured Suzy and Bo-gum inside a public transport. B-gum held Suzy’s hand and the two stared into each other eyes with love.

Wonderland tells the tale of the Wonderland service which permits users to bring back their dead loved ones through video call. The deceased are reconstructed through AI, but they lack human characteristics. Bae Suzy will essay the role of Jung-in who reconstructs her partner Tae-joo (Park Bo-gum) after the latter encounters an unfortunate accident.
Bae Suzy will navigate through complex emotions of longing, confusion and happiness as she spends life with her “reconstructed lover" through the bizarre service. Meanwhile, Park Bo-gum as Tae-joo will portray a half-alive, half-dead individual, who regains consciousness in a hospital bed. The actor’s acting skills will be put to the test as he will perform a character who deals with confusion after waking up. Everything around him feels unfamiliar as he tries to blend in with the real world.
Wonderland’s director asserted that Bae Suzy and Park Bo-gum displayed “great chemistry as they worked together on scenes with consideration and respect for each other". Other cast members in the show include Tang Wei, Choi Woo-shik, Gong Yoo, and Jung Yu-mi.
