Jaipur is nothing short of a dream for those who are fond of all things ancient and beautiful. Bollywood's romance with the Pink city has been there, and is here to stay.

New Delhi: For years, Jaipur has been the object of fantasy for filmmakers across the globe. With the grandeur of its forts and its rich cultural heritage, Jaipur is nothing short of a dream for those who are fond of all things ancient and beautiful. Bollywood's romance with the Pink City has been there, and is here to stay, if the recent trend is to be believed. We bring to you a list of the movies which have been shot in Jaipur:

Shudh Desi Romance: The very recent Yashraj production, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra was extensively shot in Jaipur. Stills of several famous spots including the Jal Mahal, Amer Fort and the Hawa Mahal, around the city can be seen through the length of the movie.

Bol Bacchan: This movie starring Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan was shot in the Chomu Palace of Jaipur. Chomu Palace is a heritage hotel which is 300 years old and has thus been a witness of the luxurious lives led by the rulers in their time.

The movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ has also been shot at the Chomu Palace.

Rang de Basanti: Once an anthem for the new generation the song,

'Masti ki Pathshala' from ‘Rang De Basanti’ was shot at the Nahargarh Fort of Jaipur. The fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Perched on the Aravali hills, this fort was mainly established for the purpose of retreat and recreation. It is said that several Europeans took shelter in this fort, during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.

Jodha Akbar: The Ashutosh Gowarikar directorial venture 'Jodha Akbar' was shot at the Amer Fort. This elaborate period drama starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwariya Rai has several stills from in and around the fort. The Amer Fort was built in 1592, and is considered to be one of the oldest and most famous forts of Jaipur. A witness to several battlements and invasions, this fort continues to be one of the must-visit tourist locations of all times.

Salman Khan starrer ‘Veer’ was also shot at the Amer Fort.

Sabse Bada Khiladi: We all remember grooving to the famous 'Bholi Bhali Ladki' from the Akshay Kumar movie ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi' don’t we? This groovy song was shot at the Birla Mandir of Jaipur. This beautiful temple, sometimes also referred to as the Lakshmi Narayan temple, is located on the Moti Dungari hill in Rajasthan. Built in the year 1988, the temple is constructed on white marble and is dedicated Lord Vishnu.

Beta: The superhit movie, with Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit as its main leads, too had stills from the Pink City. The song 'Koyal Si Teri Boli' from the movie had shots of the famous Hawa Mahal of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal is one of the most prominent monuments of Jaipur and is also referred to as the 'Palace of the Wind' because of the several 'Jharokas' which adorn it. The red sandstone structure is often said to be in a shape, similar to Lord Krishna’s crown. One of the most visited monuments of Jaipur, the Hawa Mahal is known for its intricate design.

Lamhe: Directed by Yash Chopra, this Sridevi and Anil Kapoor starrer has been awarded the status of a classic over the years. Not a commercial success in India, but critically acclaimed certain shots of this movie were shot at the Kanak Vrindavan Garden situated in a valley surrounded by the Aravali hills. The garden is located when on your way to the Amer Fort.The garden was made by the Kachchwaha Rajput Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur and is approximately 275 years ago

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: This 2012 Hollywood movie, starring actors like Judi Dench, Celia Imrie and Bill Nighy was shot in several areas of Jaipur. The movie had stills of the Tripola Bazar located in the Jauhari Bazar, Jaipur. Tripolia Bazar is a shopper’s paradise.

Zubeida: Directed by Shyam Benegal, this National Award winning film was shot in the Naraina Niwas Palace of Jaipur. A Karishma Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai starrer, 'Zubeida' won several accolades for its locations and performances. Built in 1928 by General Amar Singh, the Naraina Niwas Palace was a country residence and was named after his father Thakur Narain Singh. The Narain Palace is now being run as a heritage hotel.

Paheli: Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee, parts of the movie 'Paheli' were shot at the Hadi Rani ki Baori of Jaipur. A stepwell, the Hadi Rani ki Baori is said to have a history of special social and historical significance. An architectural wonder, the Baori is said to be home to certain supernatural beings.
