Devotees clean their homes and puja rooms and decorate the idol of Radha Rani with fine clothes and ornaments. The idol is then bathed with panchamrit and placed on a wooden board. Lamps lit with desi ghee are offered along with garlands. Sweet foods are prepared as bhog prasad.
Radha Ashtami 2024: How to Celebrate?
Devotees recite mantras, sing devotional bhajans and recite Radha Ashtakam to seek blessings. Many also visit Radha Rani temples to offer prayers and express their gratitude.
Devotees wake up early in the morning and clean the home and the puja room where they plan to set up an altar. They can take an idol of Goddess Radha Rani and give her a bath with panchamrit. Adorn her with a beautiful dress and ornaments. Place the idol on the wooden plank. Light a diya with desi ghee in front of the idol and offer a garland. Prepare sweet food for Radha Ji. Offer bhog prasad and other offerings and chant mantras to invoke the idol. Celebrate this day by singing devotional bhajans and reciting Radha Ashtakam to seek the blessings of Radha Rani Ji. Visit the Radha Rani Temple to offer prayers to the Goddess and show gratitude. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India.
