Restaurant Review: Filmy Cafe & Bar
Restaurant Review: Filmy Cafe & Bar
Each piece of background music for Filmy Cafe & Bar has been selected with as much care as each element for the day’s specials.

So you have just watched your favourite film with a bunch of friends and need to drop in at an eating joint which exudes the same filmi feeling, all to make your experience unforgettable, right? Well, if you happen to be in Connaught Place, and have just stepped out of your favourite haunt PVR plaza building, chances are you have been to the newly opened cafe and bar called Filmy Cafe & Bar by Deez. Those who haven’t, let me introduce you to it. Interestingly, it isn’t just the posters of your much-liked films that adorn the place but also several famous dialogues. Each piece of background music for Filmy Cafe & Bar has been selected with as much care as each element for the day’s specials.

To achieve a steady flow of suitable guests, they give guests an elaborate menu to choose from. And as expected, the menu has been put into Bollywood and Hollywood flavours. While Bollywood sections includes our ‘desi khana’, Hollywood offers an interesting blend of international cuisines – be it Italian, American, Continental and Chinese.

From a lip-smacking variety of food items such as - Chilli Chicken, Honey Chilli Potato, Spring Rolls, Falafel Pita Bread, Lamb Pizza, Chicken Pizza, Peri Peri Chicken Burger, Chilli Mushroom, Paneer Tikka, Cheese Mexican Nachos And Kebabs – on offer, we decided start with Hara Bhara Kabab, Pesto Cottage Cheese burger and Lasagna. Non-vegetarians have the option to choose American Chicken Wings, Murgh Kaali Mirch Tikka and Chicken Tikka Pizza.

A tasty alternative for those who love kababs but are vegetarian - Hara Bhara Kabab was both soft and a perfect mishmash of peas, potatoes and spinach. The Pesto Cottage Cheese burger, which we tried next, came with cabbage, tomatoes and potatoes was fresh, crunch and lightly flavored. Their over-baked lasagna can be skipped. For it was clearly not prepared the way it should have. From the dessert section, we tried one of the specials - Hot fudge brownie with ice cream - to end our meal. Since the brownie was hard, it became a bit difficult for us to enjoy.

Our opinion: You'll love its filmy feel
