After Fans’ Demand, Makers Of Jr NTR-starrer Devara Add Daavudi Song To The Film

It’s been a week since the Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer highly anticipated film Devara: Part 1 has hit theatres. The action drama film, directed by Koratala Siva, is performing well at the box office. As reported earlier, the makers have introduced the mass dance number Daavudi into the film starting yesterday, October 4. A few theatres have included it in the morning shows, and by the end of the day, every theatre worldwide has screened the film with the new song. The initial response to the song has been overwhelmingly positive, and it remains to be seen how this addition will impact the film’s future performance. Earlier, since the day of the film’s release, many filmgoers took to social media and expressed their displeasure about the Daavudi song-and-dance sequence not being part of the film. The peppy dance number, sung by Nakash Aziz and Akasa, had achieved great popularity and is till now said to have garnered over 45 million hits on Youtube. The makers have made an official announcement regarding the same; the caption reads, “To all the fans who have been waiting to get into the KILI KILIYE mood. Enjoy #Daavudi at your nearest cinemas now! ”

The song, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, was crooned by Nakash Aziz and Akasa, with the Telugu lyrics being penned by Ramajogayya Sastry.

Devara currently has 3 songs in its theatrical print — CChuttamalle, Fear Song, and Ayudha Puja — all of which became very popular as well. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director for Devara: Part 1, marking his first soundtrack for a Jr NTR starrer. He had earlier worked as a playback singer for RRR.

The cinematography of the film is handled by R Rathnavelu, and editing is done by A Sreekar Prasad.

Aside from the RRR star and Janhvi Kapoor, the movie also has actors like Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, and many more in key roles. The film was released back on September 27, 2024, and is also slated to have a sequel in due time.
