Mohan has been a popular name in the Indian Film Industry for more than 40 years. His acting skills are often highly praised by his fans and critics. He made his silver screen debut in 1977 with the film Kokila. The film performed well at the box office. He was nicknamed Kokila Mohan by the audience for his acting in the movie. Following his consecutive hits he earned the title of Silver Jubilee Star.
After being away from the industry, he is back again with a new production, Haraa. The film was released on June 7. The veteran actor attended many promotional events. According to reports, he recently talked about the rumours of him having aids that were spread during his absence from the film industry. Speaking in the interview, Mohan said, “During the time I was absent from the film industry, various rumours were circulated about me and my personal life. In the 90s, there were rumours that I had contracted AIDS. Hearing that, my fans were surprised and they came over to my house to meet me. It was shocking for my family and friends.”
“My family and friends know the truth and I have no feelings about it. I would have felt sad if it was true but it is not” Mohan added. When he was at the peak of his career in the 80s, Mohan disappeared from the film industry sparking various rumours about the actor.
The film Haraa, starring Mohan, was released yesterday, garnering a massive craze among the audience. The film also features actors like Yogi Babu, Motta Rajendran, Mime Gopi, Suresh Menon and Charu Haasan. The film is directed and penned by Vijay Sri G. Popular producer Kovai SP Mohanraj produced the film while Rashaanth Arwin composed the music.
Mohan has acted in some most popular films that have garnered massive love from the audience. Some of his well-known films are Nooravathu Naal, Nenjathai Killathe, Muniyana Madari and Payanangal Mudivathillai.
