The makers of Chiyaan Vikram and Pa Ranjith’s upcoming film Thangalaan released the third single from the film on Monday, August 12. The song titled Aruvadai, in which Vikram sings is a Nattupuram number that farmers sing to beat the exhaustion of working on the land. Besides Vikram, Sindhuri Vishal, Mathichiyam Bala and Suganthi have also lent their voices to the song, while Uma Devi has penned the lyrics.
The much-awaited film has been the talk of the town. The trailer, which was released recently, has already received rave reviews across the country. The intensity of the trailer is making cinephiles go crazy, and as a result, the trailer has already garnered over 10 million views on YouTube. Amidst all the fuss, the film has now cleared the censor formalities and is gearing up for a theatrical release. The pan-India film has received a U/A certificate from the censor board and is now gearing up for its August 15 release.
The trailer of the film shows how British officials go gold hunting in the gold fields of Kolar during British rule and employ local tribes for extraction. Vikram is portrayed as the leader of one such tribe who gets involved in a conflict with another tribe while searching for gold.
Vikram’s portrayal as a fearless leader dedicated to protecting his people shows impressive emotional depth. His transformation for this role is particularly notable. The trailer shows action sequences involving bows, swords and spears, with Vikram’s confrontation with a Black Panther being particularly gripping. Director Pa Ranjith seems to have masterfully depicted historical events in his cinematic universe with the trailer of Thangalaan.

The other cast includes Pashupathi, Harikrishnan and Anbu Durai among others. The technical team of the film includes music by GV Prakash Kumar, art direction by SS Murthy, editing by RK Selva, and stunts by Stunner Sam.
