Celine Dion Feels 'Honoured' After Performing At Paris Olympics 2024
Celine Dion was among the selective celebrities who performed at the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics 2024.

Bringing an end to the long wait, Celine Dion has finally returned to the stage for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The pop legend marked her first performance on Friday since stepping away from the spotlight after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. Dion arrived in Paris on Monday at the Royal Monceau Hotel, fuelling speculations about her performance. As fans were eagerly anticipating her comeback at the event, Dion did not disappoint on the night of the opening ceremony.

Following the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, the superstar singer took over the first stage of the Eiffel Tower and sang Edith Piaf’s timeless classic, L’Hymne à l’amour. With clean notes and powerful vocals, Dion seemed to be in excellent form in her first performance after four years.

In pictures shared by the official social media handle of the Olympics, the singing superstar can be seen dressed in a sparkly floor-length tasseled Dior gown. It was covered in sequins and beads with a long train. She completed her look with a slick bun and smoky eyes. Dion was accompanied by her pianist on the stage as she belted out the song.

Besides her comeback, the event also marks Celine Dion’s first performance at the Olympics, nearly 30 years since she last took to the stage at the 1996 Olympic Games, which was held in Atlanta.
