Confirmed: Nicholas Galitzine To Play The Prince Of Eternia In Masters Of The Universe
The Idea of You actor Nicholas Galitzine has been roped in to play He-Man in Mattel Films' Masters of the Universe.

Ending the long wait, Amazon MGM is finally set to bring the live-action Masters of the Universe to life with Mattel Films. While details about the flick have been kept under wraps, we already have our on-screen He-Man confirmed. Known for his roles in The Idea of You and Red, White & Royal Blue, Nicholas Galitzine will play the lead role as the blond barbarian. Galitzine also took to his Instagram and confirmed the casting update.

“By the Power of Greyskull, I HAVE THE POWER!” I’m so beyond proud to announce that I will be playing Adam, Prince of Eternia in ‘Masters of the Universe’. It has been a dream for so long to play someone of his heart, humour and heroism, I cannot wait to get started,” he wrote on the social media platform.

To be based on the iconic Mattel franchise, the film will be directed by Travis Knight, while the script will be penned by Chris Butler. Also, Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce Masters of the Universe alongside Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner. The long-delayed film is expected to hit theatres on June 5, 2026, reports Variety.

Speaking on the same, Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, said, “We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man. Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”

More About Masters Of The Universe

According to the film’s official synopsis, “Masters of the Universe” introduces a 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword — the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”

While further details about the casting for the project are yet to be announced, the news is clearly a welcome bulletin for fans. The Mattel franchise began in 1982 through action figures. Its animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe premiered a year after that and was also syndicated across television networks.
