Late Bollywood singer Pankaj Udhas still resides in the hearts of millions of his fans for the melodies he has gifted to the musical industry of India. His famous song in the film Naam is one such song which is still remembered by the audience. The film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt starring popular Bollywood actors like Sanjay Dutt, Amrita Singh, Paresh Rawal, Nutan among others. Pankaj Udhas earlier visited a popular comedy show where he revealed some of his experiences while recording the song of the film Naam. In the film, he sang the song named Chithi Aai Hai which gained him massive fame. Fans loved the song as it easily touched their hearts with its lyrical flavour. He mentioned that the song penned by Anand Bakshi was filled with emotional content and the song nicely conveyed the significance of letters to the audience.

While talking about his experience during the recording of the song Late singer Pankaj Udhas mentioned that the song was recorded in only seven minutes. He said that the song was recorded in a single take without any breaks, mistakes or retakes. The veteran singer also explained why it was so easy for him to record the song. Singer Pankaj Udhas said, “Firstly I would like to mention that lyricist Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics exceptionally well. Secondly, the music was superbly composed which helped me to record the song fluently. I recorded the song in live instrumental arrangements and the arrangements were very good.”

The veteran singer has sung more than a hundred songs in his musical career. The legendary singer started his singing journey with a ghazal album named Aahat in 1980. He went on to produce hits like Mukarar in 1981, Tarrannum in 1982, Mehfil in 1983, Nayaab in 1985 and Aafreen in 1986. In 2006, Pankaj Udhas was honoured with the Padma Shri Award, the fourth-highest civilian award in the country. The legendary singer breathed for the last time on February 26.
