Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter who made their big Bollywood debut back in 2018, are all set to team up for the second time. Almost 6 years later, Janhvi and Ishaan are reuniting for Karan Johar’s next film. Helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, the film is all set to go on floors in October 2024.
According to a report in Peepingmoon.com, the upcoming Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter film will also star television actor Vishal Jethwa, renowned for his antagonist role in Rani Mukherji’s Mardaani 2. The source close to the production house added, “It’s a well-written, ensemble-cast drama that Neeraj Ghaywan has been working on for the past two years. Both Janhvi and Ishaan have enormous admiration for the director’s work and quickly came aboard the film as it offers them roles that are a complete departure from what they played in Dhadak. They had been itching to collaborate once more since their first movie and are thrilled to have found the perfect reunion recipe in Neeraj’s film.”
Neeraj is directing a new movie starring Janhvi and Ishan, his first feature film in nine years since his critically acclaimed debut, Masaan. Since then, he has worked on various projects for streaming platforms, including Sacred Games Season 2 and Ajeeb Daastaans. This new film marks his collaboration with Karan Johar, after a previous attempt to work together on a biopic with Alia Bhatt didn’t work out.
This movie is Janhvi’s sixth project with Dharma Productions, following films like Dhadak and Gunjan Saxena. For Ishaan, it’s only his second film with the banner. Vishal Jethwa, who previously worked with Yash Raj Films on Mardaani 2 and Tiger 3, is now collaborating with Dharma Productions for the first time.
Janhvi Kapoor is now awaiting the release of her highly anticipated gripping thriller Ulajh, scheduled to release in theatres on August 2. Ishaan Khatter on the other hand has two Netflix shows lined up ahead – an international series, The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning; and a romantic drama series, titled Royals, with Bhumi Pednekar.
