With only a few days ahead of the release of his film Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal has been basking in love for his outstanding dance moves in the song Tauba Tauba. Within two weeks of its release, the video song has garnered over 60 million views with fans recreating the viral hook steps. While cinema enthusiasts can’t move on from the actor’s infectious skills in the song, the question arises – did his wife Katrina Kaif approve of his dance? Now, Vicky has responded to the question in a recent interview.
In an interview with Mashable India, Vicky Kaushal reacted to the comparisons being made with his wife based on dancing skills. The actor believes that it is unfair to compare them, adding that Katrina belongs to a different league. He shared, “Some people belong to a different league. Just because my one song received appreciation… But she is in a different league. She’s just too good at what she does. Whenever I show her rehearsal videos, I get a lot of comments from her. Humne bas visarjan mein dance kiya hai (I have only danced on the occasion of visarjan). I am not a trained dancer.”
Adding what Katrina Kaif’s approval of her dance in the song Tauba Tauba means, he noted, “But I am happy that, for the first time, she’s also really liked my dance and the style of it and everything. That approval is like an Oscar.”
Earlier, in an interview with Film Companion, Vicky Kaushal highlighted the advice he received from Katrina Kaif for his dancing skills. The actor said, “She keeps telling me, ‘I know you love to dance. But you are a baraati dancer, and not a trained one’. That’s because I get carried away, and she tells me that is fine in real life, but I need to preserve the energy for the camera”.
Speaking of the film Bad Newz, the Anand Tiwari directorial stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk and Neha Dhupia in key roles. The comedy-drama is a sequel to 2019 released Good Newwz that featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.
