To mark the 50-day run of the film in theatres, the makers have organised a special event.

Kannada film Kerebete, starring Gowrishankar in the lead role, opened to rave reviews. It has completed a 50-day run in theatres now. The makers say that the box collections are not impressive. To mark the 50-day run of the film in theatres, the makers have organised a special event. Gowrishankar’s production company, Janamana Cinemas, celebrated the film’s 50-day milestone by distributing memorabilia to everyone associated with the film. The practice of celebrating the completion of a film after 50 days has become a rarity in recent times.

Talking to the media, Gowrishankar expressed himself. He said, “Though the film is not a commercial hit, I am happy that the majority of the audience who supported and watched the film have given positive reviews. The word of mouth has certainly helped. The film ran for 50 days in many theatres across Karnataka and continues to be screened in a few select theatres. This celebration is our way of sharing this joy with you. Kerebete was my dream project and though it was not a huge success, it holds a special place in my heart. For now, I will focus on acting and not venture into production.”

Director Rajaguru thanked Janamana Cinema for making his dream a reality and thanked the industry for its support. Actress Bindu Shivaram shared her joy at the positive reviews and audience appreciation.

Kerebete was released on March 15. Produced by Janamana Cinema, the film depicts the culture of fish hunting. Its star-studded cast includes Gopal Deshpande, Sampath Kumar, Harini, Gowrishankar and Bindu Shivaram.

Previously, Kannada actor Dhruva Sarja had endorsed the film after watching it, encouraging others to lend their support to its release. Sandalwood star Prem watched the film with his family and lauded its quality, urging audiences not to miss out on the opportunity to see it in theatres.

During its release week, Kerebete faced stiff competition from Jackie, a re-release starring Puneeth Rajkumar, which garnered more attention from audiences.
