Jenna Dewan Accuses Channing Tatum Of 'Hiding' Magic Mike Profits
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan still haven't settled their finances and the argument is related to Tatum’s earnings from the Magic Mike franchise.

In 2018, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan shocked their fans by announcing separation after nearly nine years of marriage. The couple, who first met and fell in love on the sets of 2006 movie Step Up and tied the knot in 2009, were one of Hollywood’s strongest pairs. However, six years later, they still haven’t settled their finances and the argument is related to Tatum’s earnings from the Magic Mike franchise. According to court documents obtained by People, Dewan wants both of them to testify about their marriage and financial activities, as the actress believes she deserves a share of the profits from the successful film series. The 43-year-old actress argues that the movies were “developed and co-financed by Channing during marriage with community effort and marital funds.” Dewan further blames Tatum for the delay in settling.

The Rookie actress claims that Tatum and his team set up a complicated network of “LLCs, holding companies and partnerships” to hide the value of the franchise and its earnings from her. She’s asking for a separate trial to fairly divide assets, alleging that the 21 Jump Street star planned to hide income from her. Tatum, however, strongly denies this and states that he “never denied Petitioner of her share of the community assets or income.” His legal team also expressed frustration over the five-year-long divorce process and urged for a trial without further delay, as Tatum has exhausted all attempts to settle the matter outside of court.

In a 2023 Vanity Fair interview, Channing Tatum spoke about his split from Jenna Dewan and said, “We fought for it for a really long time, even though we both sort of knew that we had sort of grown apart. I think we told ourselves a story when we were young and we just kept telling ourselves that story, no matter how blatantly life was telling us that we were so different. But when you’re actually parents you really understand differences between the two of you. In the beginning, it was super scary and terrifying. Your life just turns on its axis. This whole plan that you had literally just turns into sand and goes through your fingers and you’re just like, ‘Oh, shit. What now?’.”

Since their separation, Tatum is currently living with his fiance Zoe Kravitz, while Dewan is engaged to Steve Kazee. Dewan and Kazee are parents to their 4-year-old son Callum and are waiting for the arrival of another baby.

Channing Tatum’s journey with Magic Mike began in 2011 when he starred and produced the hit film. Inspired by his own experiences, the comedy-drama follows the story of a young male dancer named Mike, who becomes the star attraction at a strip club in Tampa. The movie was a success and in 2015, Tatum returned to the role in Magic Mike XXL. Fast forward to 2023, Tatum reprised his role once again in Magic Mike’s Last Dance. The character of Magic Mike earlier inspired a reality TV series in 2021 and stage productions in Las Vegas and London.
