Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston got emotional during a recent interview when she was asked about her hit show ‘Friends’ turning 30. The question reminded Jennifer of her late co-star, Matthew Perry, who was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. Jennifer was part of the ensemble cast from 1994-2004 alongside Matthew, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
While speaking to Quinta Brunson for Variety’s Actors on Actors conversation, Jennifer was asked about the American sitcom turning 30, and what it’s like to watch it following the death of Matthew Perry.
“Oh God, don’t make me cry!” Aniston responded in a Variety clip, shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). “I won’t, we won’t make each other cry,” Quinta replied, as Jennifer said, “Okay.”
“But, you’re already crying,” the ‘Abbott Elementary’ star added before asking Jennifer, “Do you want a minute? We don’t have to talk about (it.)”
“Sorry, I just started thinking about…” Jennifer began, before being handed a tissue. “It’s happy tears,” she insisted, adding: “Okay, and we’re back!”

As the conversation continued, Jennifer joked, “And I’m turning 30, what a coincidence!” Quinta quipped, “When you were a baby on that show you were so advanced… your fine motor skills were insane.” “Wasn’t I? I was an old soul,” the ‘Mystery Murder 2’ actress replied.
In her first interview following the loss of Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston had told Variety she hopes he is remembered “as he said he’d love to be remembered” – a man who lived well and helped others.
“He was happy. He was healthy. He had quit smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy — that’s all I know,” an emotional Jennifer said.
