Los Angeles: Singer John Legend says he can relate to actress Meghan Markle amid the drama surrounding her family preceding her wedding with Prince Harry.
According to a report in people.com, the singer, who welcomed his second child with wife Chrissy Teigen on Wednesday, sympathised with Markle on Twitter when he responded to a fan who asked: "Be honest: if you were about to marry into royalty, would your family somehow manage to show their a** and embarrass you?"
Legend, 39, shared his past experience with a relative, writing: "I had a cousin try to raffle off tickets to have ‘Christmas Dinner with John Legend'. So, yes."

Legend's tweet came on the same day that Markle released a statement regarding her father Thomas Markle's health after he revealed he underwent heart surgery and can not attend the wedding.
In her first solo statement issued by the palace, Markle thanked people for their messages of support since the news emerged that her father was not going to the UK for the wedding.
The couple will exchange vows at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday. The wedding will beam on Indian television deferred live on Colors Infinity.
