Kamal Haasan Wishes Rajinikanth A ‘Speedy Recovery’ After His Hospitalisation

Superstar Rajinikanth is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai, after a reported swelling in a vessel, located close to his heart. The actor has been receiving wishes of recovery and good health by the fans as well as his colleagues from the industry. The list of the superstar’s well-wishers also includes fellow legend Kamal Haasan. He took to his official X handle to wish the superstar a very speedy recovery, through a heartwarming tweet. The tweet, written in Tamil, roughly translates to, “I wish my dear friend, Superstar @rajinikanth, who is hospitalised, a speedy recovery.”

In no time, the fans of both acting legends flooded the replies with wishes for the superstar. A first user wrote, “Your friend will recover completely and come back healthy.” A second fan stated, “Get well soon Rajinikanth.”

As per the media reports, on September 30, Rajnikanth was hospitalised at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. In a bulletin released by the hospital, the 73-year-old actor had been diagnosed with a swelling in the aorta, the main blood vessel leaving the heart. According to more reports, it was treated with a non-surgical transcatheter method. The actor is now reported to have been stable and recovering well.

At the work front, the superstar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming, titled Vettaiyan, which is set to release on October 10. Dubbed as an action-thriller, the film is directed by T J Gnanavel, who has co-written it with B Kiruthika. The cast of the film includes an ensemble of Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan. It is being produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. For music, the makers roped in Anirudh Ravichander while the cinematography is being done by S R Kathir and Philomin Raj is the editor.

Rajinikanth’s is also prepping for another high-budgeted release called Coolie, set to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is looking for a release in 2025 and is being produced under Sun Pictures.
